About Delden Strategy Systems
~ Delden Strategy Systems was founded to address a simple but uncomfortable truth:
Most decision failures occur not because people lack knowledge, skill, or intent, but because pressure changes how thinking happens.
~ The work focuses on decision integrity under pressure across systems, education, and individual performance.
~ Donald LeBlanc, RN, has over 25 years of experience working in high-acuity, safety-critical environments where decisions are made under time pressure, uncertainty, and incomplete information.
~ His clinical background includes roles requiring rapid assessment, prioritization, and action, often in environments where outcomes are immediately consequential.
~ Prior to his clinical career, he also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where rapid decision-making under pressure is trained deliberately and repeatedly. Military training emphasizes speed, clarity of roles, and execution under uncertainty, while also revealing how easily momentum can override reassessment if it is not explicitly built into the system.
~ That early exposure to decision-making under pressure provided a foundation for recognizing a recurring pattern that later reappeared in clinical practice, safety leadership, and post-event decision review: pressure does not eliminate information, but it reliably narrows how much of it is integrated.
Education & Professional Teaching
~ For more than a decade, he has taught in both academic and bedside clinical settings, educating nurses, EMS professionals, and interdisciplinary teams.
~ His teaching focuses on clinical reasoning, assessment, and judgment under pressure rather than rote content delivery.
~ He has also spent 15 years in program coordination roles for Life Flight and regional EMS symposia, overseeing educational programming, selecting and evaluating speakers, and delivering professional lectures.
Safety Leadership & Governance
~ For the past six years, Donald has served as the Life Flight Safety Officer for his critical care air medical transport program. In this role, he is responsible for safety policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and cultivating an organizational safety culture in alignment with state and federal requirements.
~ This work provides direct exposure to how decisions are examined at the system level before, during, and after adverse events.
~ In addition, he brings seven years of experience as a legal nurse consultant and expert witness, reviewing medical-legal cases across multiple content areas.
~ This work involves evaluating how decisions are made, documented, and later scrutinized through legal and regulatory lenses.
~ This retrospective perspective strongly informs the focus on defensible, integrated decision-making rather than hindsight-driven blame.
~Across all settings - organizational, educational, and individual - the work is unified by a single focus:
Preserving decision quality when pressure narrows thinking.
~This framework applies equally to leadership decisions, clinical judgment, safety governance, and high-stakes exam environments.
What Delden Strategy Systems Is - and Is Not
Grounded in real-world practice
Oriented toward safety, risk, and decision reliability
Generic leadership training
~ This work exists to help capable professionals and organizations recognize when confidence, speed, and momentum begin to outpace integration, and to correct course before consequences accumulate.
~ We teach Decision Integrity Under Pressure & Clinical Reasoning Under Pressure - how to recognize cognitive narrowing when metrics and reality diverge - grounded in frontline high-acuity work, safety governance, and expert-witness case review of how decisions hold up afterward.
